The Grant Writer is responsible for the full range of grant development activities for the organization. These activities include grant writing and reporting with public agencies, private foundations and corporations. Responsibilities include: 1. Identifying grant funding opportunities including prospect research to identify, cultivate and solicit new grants Conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals 2. Writing high-quality grant proposal narratives, applications, and supporting documents 3. Providing all necessary research for successful grant submission 4. Working across multiple departments to compile data, materials, and input 5. Furnishing prospective or existing funders with supporting documents 6. Following up on the progress of submitted proposals 7. Maintaining grants calendar 8.Collaborating with multidisciplinary team on grant proposal, grant reporting, and collateral materials 9. Working in collaboration with the data, finance, and program teams on all grant reporting including writing, editing, and submitting reports Required Qualifications 1. Bachelor’s Degree required 2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in grant writing; nonprofit experience a plus 3. Knowledge of criminal justice and/or violence prevention preferred 4.Demonstrated ability to write successful grant proposals
