Manpower Planner Trainee

Under the immediate supervision of the Fiscal/Programmatic Monitoring/Data Validation Manager, for a period of a minimum of 6 months, not to exceed 12 months, participates in an agency sponsored training program focused on the federal workforce regulations including but not limited to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act and Trade Adjustment and Assistance Act; participates in on-the-job training utilizing the Department's monitoring tools and procedures; conducts research as directed; assists with the development of monitoring reports, participates in training sessions and other meetings focused on the administration of workforce programs as directed.

Participates in an agency sponsored training program focused on learning federal workforce legislation and regulations including but not limited to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, Trade Adjustment Assistance Act, and the Uniform Administrative Guidelines.

Participates in on-the-job training that utilizes the Department's monitoring tools and procedures including but not limited the Department's grant management, accounting, monitoring, and performance management systems. Assists in the completion of formal and informal technical assistance reviews, desk monitoring and on-site compliance monitoring for grantees utilizing the prescribed automated monitoring tools. Assists in writing subsequent reports of findings and identified corrective action. Travels to conduct monitoring.
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college; requires two years of experience in responsible administrative clerical work related to manpower, education and social programs related to the workforce development programs under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

Requires ability to speak publicly and to produce public speaking presentations.

Requires knowledge of modern management principles and practices of public and business administration including the ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as the ability to conduct Internet-based research.

Requires a valid driver's license in order to meet travel requirements of position, including overnight travel.
